Kristi Wellington Baker serves as the AWS Higher Education strategy lead, focusing on enriching and personalizing the student experience. Throughout her twenty years in higher education, Kristi has served in various leadership roles in Student Affairs. Her on-campus experience of leadership of access, persistence, and completion efforts significantly improved student outcomes. Kristi has also completed the Aspen Presidential Fellowship, worked as a researcher and consultant for various higher education institutions, and has served on the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges as the Director of Student Success and Strategic Initiatives.
Dr. Ian Slater

Dr. Ian Slater serves as the Vice President for Student Development at Eastern Nazarene College. Ian holds his M.A. in Higher Education from Geneva College and his Ph.D. in Higher Education from Azusa Pacific University. As an ardent enthusiast for student success and flourishing, Ian finds joy in redesigning and aligning processes, services, programming, and policies to create a vibrant student experience. Ian lives by the south shore of Boston, Massachusetts, with his spouse, children, and hamster.

Prior to Watermark, Alex was the Founder and CEO of Aviso Retention. His company offered a leading higher education student success solution, which is now the Student Success & Engagement platform within the Watermark Suite. Since 2007, Alex has put a spotlight on how technology within higher education can facilitate student engagement, ensure equitable treatment, and create societal change. Alex holds a B.S. in Systems Analysis from Miami University.
